Why Should I Join?
When joining the Funders for Reproductive Equity (FRE), you become part of a vibrant community eager to strengthen the impact and effectiveness of philanthropy supporting reproductive health, rights and justice in the United States and around the globe. FRE offers its members a range of initiatives, events and services, including opportunities to connect with colleagues to discuss grantmaking strategies and explore coordination and collaboration. No other space in philanthropy centers reproductive health, rights and justice, and FRE members appreciate the opportunity to meet and form productive relationships with other grantmakers in this arena.

Membership Criteria
Foundations and other grantmaking institutions may join Funders for Reproductive Equity if they support our mission and meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of $60,000 in direct grants in reproductive health, rights and justice per year;
- The primary purpose of the institution’s work is grantmaking and grants are made to multiple individuals and organizations (not just to subsidiary chapters or organizations and/or to pre-selected grantee organizations); and
- The funding source is primarily non-governmental.
Corporate giving programs, individuals, philanthropic advisors and donor affinity groups may also be considered for membership. Contact FRE (info at wearefre.org) for more information on eligibility.
Membership Fees
The work of FRE is made possible by the support of our members dedicated to reproductive health, rights and justice issues. Membership fees are assessed on an annual basis, with each institution’s contribution adjusted according to the size of its grantmaking in this field. More information is available at this link.
